|a Through this communication we intend to tour places of memory and symbols of leftist political culture of the Bilbao of the Second Republic and the Civil War, in front of City Hall which was the Republican Ernesto Ercoreca. It is reviewing the Republican period emphasizing the great problems of the time (autonomy, secularism, army, etc.) and the historical roots of Republicanism.

|a Mediante de esta comunicación pretendemos hacer un recorrido por los lugares de memoria y símbolos -unos que aún perviven y otros no- de la cultura política izquierdista del Bilbao de la II República y la Guerra Civil, al frente de cuyo Ayuntamiento estaba el republicano Ernesto Ercoreca. Se trata de repasar el período republicano haciendo hincapié en los grandes problemas de aquella época (autonomía, laicismo, ejército, etc.) y en las raíces históricas del republicanismo.
