Providing capital, specialised labour and novel procedures, these merchants brought about a genuine transfer of a productive sector from their land of origin to their new place of settlement.

Desde las sólidas posiciones conseguidas en el gran comercio bilbaíno, abrieron por su iniciativa empresarial nuevos horizontes a la industria del curtido. Aportando capital, mano de obra especializada y procedimientos novedosos, estos mercaderes procedieron a un auténtico traslado de un sector productivo desde su tierra de origen al nuevo asentamiento.
