La Rioja became Autonomus Community after a claim process and demand his identity in the years of transition to democracy in Spain. Since that period until the present, Riojan identity has been building and defining, but has also been questioned by the absence of a “strong” objetives traits. Furthermore, collective identities are living entities that are transformed, expecially in a context like globalization. This paper reflects about Riojan identity as from of Julio Caro Baroja conference about the history of the region at the Ateneo Riojano in 1984. In the same part of its context, the account is built about lo riojano and, in an exploratory way, how has been articulated in the following three decades, and the situation of the riojan identity in the present. La Rioja se convirtió en Comunidad Autónoma en 1982 tras un proceso de reivindicación y demanda de su identidad en los años de la transición a la democracia en España. Desde ese periodo y hasta la actualidad, la identidad riojana se ha ido construyendo y definiendo, aunque también se ha cuestionado por la ausencia de unos rasgos objetivos “fuertes”. Además, las identidades colectivas son entidades vivas que se transforman, especialmente en un contexto como el de la globalización. El presente artículo reflexiona sobre la identidad riojana a partir de la conferencia de Julio Caro Baroja sobre la historia de la región en el Ateneo Riojano en 1984. En el mismo se parte de su contexto, el relato que se construye sobre lo riojano y, de forma exploratoria, cómo se ha ido articulando en las tres décadas siguientes, y la situación de la identidad riojana en la actualidad |
