In the ancient Navarra's Sonsierra, between the mountain ranges of Tolono and Cantabria from the north and the river Ebro to the south, the hermitages dedicated to San Martin multiplied: San Martín de Motilluri, San Martín de Pangua, San Martín de los Monjes, and San Martín, de la Arena, if we adhere to the accidental part. In most of the documents it only appears San Martin's reference, which has made scholars attribute news to one specific hermitage, when it turns out that they refer to another hermitage. Our task is to allocate the correspondent dedication to each of the four hermitages from now on, so it can be known when it refers to one or when to another one En la antigua Sonsierra de Navarra, entre las sierras de Toloño y Cantabria por el norte y el río Ebro al sur, proliferaron las ermitas dedicadas a San Martín: San Martín de Motilluri, San Martín de Pangua, San Martín de los Monjes y San Martín de la Arena por ceñirnos a la parte occidental. Ello ha hecho difícil la diferenciación entre unas y otras, de modo que los estudiosos que de ello se han ocupado siguen atribuyendo noticias a una ermita, cuando resulta que se refieren a otra. La tarea que nos proponemos es adjudicar sobre el terreno la advocación correspondiente a cada una de las cuatro ermitas de modo que, a partir de ahora, podamos distinguir perfectamente cuándo hablamos de una y cuándo de otra. |
